iTunes includes several options to automatically or manually sync music to your iPod, iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod shuffle (3rd generation), or iPod mini. If you are using and iPod shuffle (1st and 2nd generation), click here to learn how to sync music to it.
1 Connect iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
2 Click on iPod in the Devices segment on the left side of the iTunes window.
3 In the main iTunes browser window, click on the Music tab. then click on the checkbox labeled "Sync music".
4 You can sync all songs and playlists or just selected playlists. Your iPod need to have enough free space for the sync.
Tip: To determine how much free space is available use the capacity bar at the bottom of the iPod settings window.
5 Podcasts can also be automatically synced to iPod. Select the Podcasts tab and choose to sync all podcasts or selected ones. You can also determine which episodes are synced based on if they are recent, new, or unplayed.
6 Click Apply and iTunes will begin syncing the audio content you've selected to your iPod. The iTunes LCD will display the sync progress and notify you when the iPod sync is complete.
7 Click on the eject icon under devices to disconnect your iPod
